Unfazed by plans of others to approach the Supreme Court, three main parties in the Ayodhya title suits--Ram Janmbhoomi Trust, Hashim Ansari and the Nirmohi Akhara--came together for the first time on a public platform on Friday to discuss a formula for a negotiated settlement.
The attack comes a day after senior DMK leader and state Electricity Minister N Veerasamy took strong exception to the reported 'fatwa' by Vedanti for beheading Karunanidhi.
Vishwa Hindu Parishad leaders Ashok Singhal and Pravin Togadia were on Friday released along with 957 fellow cadres, a day after nearly 2,500 activists were arrested in a massive crackdown by Uttar Pradesh authorities to foil its yatra which also led to protests by its workers.
The court granted bail to Advani, Joshi and Bharti after they appeared before it.
